Football Game Preview: Avon Braves vs. York/Pavilion

The Avon Braves will head out on the road to challenge York/Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

York/Pavilion will be up against a hot Avon squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Braves simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Notre Dame Academy 48-20. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask York/Pavilion). They breezed past Oakfield-Alabama/Elba to the tune of 41-7 on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded York/Pavilion with their most commanding win of the season.

York/Pavilion's win came from a few key players Avon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Parker Bonefede, who threw for 166 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 37 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (169.5). Yeriel Diaz-Pena was another key player, gaining 145 total yards and three touchdowns.

York/Pavilion was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
