Basketball Recap: Highlands Christian Takes a Loss

If Highlands Christian was riding high fresh off their 81-52 takedown of Gulliver Prep on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights took a 79-64 bruising from the Fort Lauderdale Flying L on Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Lauderdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adler Olweean, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 21 points and six rebounds. The game was Olweean's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rawle Farose, who went 6-for-11 en route to 16 points and seven boards.

Highlands Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fort Lauderdale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Highlands Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Plantation at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Lauderdale, they and Westminster Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
