Basketball Game Preview: Johnson Pumas vs. Hansberry Bengals

The Johnson Pumas just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Hansberry Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Sunday, Johnson beat Goode STEM Academy 48-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pumas.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hansberry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They managed a 54-48 victory over Rowe-Clark on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bengals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Hansberry's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Johnson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Johnson beat Hansberry 66-53 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Johnson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
