Football Recap: Bradley-Bourbonnais Starts Season with Victory Against Joliet Central

Bradley-Bourbonnais gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They breezed past the Joliet Central Steelmen to the tune of 60-7. That's more bragging rights for the Boilermakers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bradley-Bourbonnais' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nia Lawrence led the charge by rushing for 68 yards and one score on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Georgia Kohl, who rushed for 52 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bradley-Bourbonnais was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Bradley-Bourbonnais didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Audrey Conradi and Avery Moutrey. Moutrey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
