Volleyball Recap: Calhoun County Saints vs. North Eagles
Calhoun County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the North Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
While Calhoun County ultimately came up short, they really made North work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 30-28.
Cassidy Pough paced Calhoun County's offense, picking up 19 kills. Pough got some help from Tyera Wannamaker and her nine assists. Alyssa Rucker controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Calhoun County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for North, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Calhoun County is set to square off against their familiar foe Blackville-Hilda at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North will face off against rival Horse Creek Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
