Basketball Game Preview: Canton Bulldogs vs. Franklin Panthers

Canton is 2-7 against Franklin since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Canton Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Franklin Panthers at 6:30 p.m.

Canton is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Stoughton.

Meanwhile, Franklin put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Lawrence by a score of 78-67. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Franklin's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Canton came up short against Franklin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 59-54. Can Canton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
