Silver Bluff won the last time they faced Swansea and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Tigers 15-4. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Silver Bluff got a great performance from Ryley Bowman as she struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Bowman has posted since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Haeley Bowman and Isabella Kent did most of the damage at the plate: Haeley went 3-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs, while Kent went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave Bowman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerington Weathersbee, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Silver Bluff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Swansea only posted an OBP of .407.
The win made it two in a row for Silver Bluff and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Swansea, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Bluff will square off against Horse Creek Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Stallions will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Swansea, they will venture away from home to square off against Fox Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Predators have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
