Recap: Leo Lions vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Leo Lions had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-13 victory over Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger. Winning may never get old, but Leo sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Leo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylar Decker, who threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. Dearious Carter was another key contributor, rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns.
Although Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger took the loss, they still got scores from Tobias Tippmann and Carter Minix.
Leo has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points per game. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Leo will head out on the road to face off against Mississinewa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mississinewa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Leo likes a good challenge. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
