Basketball Recap: San Benito Beats Los Fresnos for Their Second Straight Victory

Los Fresnos came into Friday's game looking for another win against San Benito, but Angelina Reyes wouldn't allow it. The San Benito Greyhounds took down the Los Fresnos Falcons 59-42 on Friday thanks in part to Reyes, who went 9 for 15 en route to 24 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of San Benito's points.

Jade Maya was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 12 assists and seven boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

The win made it two in a row for San Benito and bumps their season record up to 21-11. As for Los Fresnos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-15.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Veterans Memorial the next time they take the court. Los Fresnos will host Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while San Benito will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
