The Salmon River Savages will head out on the road to challenge the Garden Valley Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Salmon River is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Two weeks ago, Salmon River really took it to Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce] for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-6 victory at home. The Savages pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the had little chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, Garden Valley humbled North Gem with a 44-12 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.
The win got Salmon River back to even at 2-2. As for Garden Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Salmon River took a serious blow against Garden Valley in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, falling 47-14. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Salmon River was down 33-8.
