St. Paul Lutheran gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cole Camp Blue Birds  7-6. The Saints have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Birds, too.
 Jaydon Battista was a major factor no matter where he played. He  struck out six batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Battista was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ryan Kunkel, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
Cole Camp now  has a losing record of 1-2.
 Looking ahead, St. Paul Lutheran is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will  take on  Sweet Springs  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Cole Camp, they will square off against Sherwood at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
