Football Recap: Eastlake Comes Up Short Despite Aubrey Thomas' Big Defensive Game + How To Watch

After flying high against Southwest SD on Monday, Eastlake came back down to earth. The Titans came up short against the Granite Hills Eagles on Tuesday, falling 26-6. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Eagles are ranked 45th).

Eastlake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Aubrey Thomas, Ava Ellorin, and Briseis Juarez picked up one apiece. Ellorin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granite Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Nash, who threw for 200 yards and three TDs. What's more, Nash racked up 120.8 passer rating, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. Granite Hills also got help from Ryan Burns, who showed off her sure hands for 114 receiving yards.

Eastlake's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Granite Hills, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Eastlake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 19-0 defeat against Castle Park on the 21st. As for Granite Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-21 victory against Olympian on the 21st.
