Volleyball Recap: North Central Comes Up Short

North Central extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 8-17. They came up short against the Zionsville Eagles, falling 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 5, 2020, but that streak is no more.

As for Zionsville, the victory snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 17-11 record. The game was the first time they have beaten North Central on their court since October 7, 2019.

Zionsville was led to victory by Lilyana Martinez and Averie Leblanc. Martinez had eight digs and three aces, while Leblanc had 30 assists and six digs. Leblanc is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 17 every time she's taken the court this season. Annaliese Tibs also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Looking ahead, North Central is taking a road trip to square off against Lawrence North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Zionsville, they will square off against Guerin Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
