Softball Game Preview: Harpeth Hall Honeybears vs. Brentwood Academy Eagles

Harpeth Hall is 0-10 against Brentwood Academy since March of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Honeybears are taking a road trip to face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Harpeth Hall has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harpeth Hall is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Christ Presbyterian Academy, falling 18-3.

Harpeth Hall saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katelyn Riojas, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Patricia Frohsin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Brentwood Academy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Brentwood Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Harpeth Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Harpeth Hall might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Brentwood Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Honeybears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
