Saluda wins going away against Ridge Spring-Monetta

The Saluda Tigers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took down Ridge Spring-Monetta 58-39. That's another feather in the cap for Saluda, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Ridge Spring-Monetta's loss came despite strong showings from Taylah Leaphart and Kennedy Ligons. Leaphart scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Ligons scored 15 points.

Saluda's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saluda will take on Strom Thurmond at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they will be playing at home against Gilbert at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Gilbert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
