Basketball Recap: Morton Snags 13th Win in Last 14 Games

Morton won the last time they faced Forest and things went their way on Thursday too. The Morton Panthers snuck past the Forest Bearcats with a 28-23 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Bearcats are ranked 181st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Morton is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Forest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, Morton and Forest will both be playing Northeast Jones the next time they take the court. Forest will head out to face Northeast Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Morton will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
