Baseball Recap: Reynolds Comes Up Short

West Middlesex hit Reynolds with a eight-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders lost 17-2 to the Big Reds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Big Reds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 on April 11th.

Reynolds saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Kendall, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Reynolds and nudges their season record down to 2-10-1. As for West Middlesex, they moved to 8-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reynolds will head out to take on Maplewood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for West Middlesex, they will head out on the road to square off against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so West Middlesex's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
