Football Game Preview: Trent Gorillas vs. Moran Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Trent Gorillas will head out to square off against the Moran Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trent has four straight victories, Moran has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Trent humbled Lueders-Avoca with a 68-18 victory. That looming 68-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Gorillas yet this season.

Michael Wallis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 187 yards and seven TDs on only seven carries, while also throwing for 121 yards and one touchdown on only six passes. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 110 rushing yards per game. 107 of Wallis' passing yards were hauled in by Chanse Williams, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trent was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Trent didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Chandler Rivera and Grayson Payne. That interception marked the first that Rivera has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Moran's offense. They took a blow against Mullin two weeks ago, falling 46-0.

Trent's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Moran, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Trent took their victory against Moran in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 84-62 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bulldogs' Ellis Hise, who rushed for 166 yards and four scores on only 13 carries, and also picked up 72 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
