Recap: Doane Academy vs. Pennsauken Indians
Doane Academy's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Pennsauken on the road by a decisive 63-44 margin. Doane Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pennsauken apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Doane Academy still got an impressive performance from Nick Fusco, who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Hiatt Smith, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Doane Academy's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-7. As for Pennsauken, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doane Academy will take on Cinnaminson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Cinnaminson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Doane Academy in New Jersey (Cinnaminson is ranked 77th, while Doane Academy is ranked 320th). As for Pennsauken, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Medford Tech at 5:15 p.m. Medford Tech has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 645 points over their last nine matches.
