Basketball Game Preview: Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks vs. Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans

Having just played yesterday, the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge Spring-Monetta took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Blackville-Hilda, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, Blackville-Hilda turned things around against Barnwell on Monday. They secured a 54-50 W over the Warhorses.

Messiah McFadden went supernova for Blackville-Hilda, going 8 for 15 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samari Williams, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Blackville-Hilda smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Ridge Spring-Monetta lost to Williston-Elko on the road by a 45-26 margin on Friday. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Ridge Spring-Monetta dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Blackville-Hilda, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Blackville-Hilda came up short against Ridge Spring-Monetta when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-47. Can Blackville-Hilda avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
