Football Preview: Abbeville Wildcats vs. Franklinton Demons
The Abbeville Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Franklinton Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Abbeville will be strutting in after a win while Franklinton will be coming in after a loss.
On Friday, Abbeville beat Mamou 24-16. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Abbeville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacolby Campbell out in front who picked up 121 receiving yards and one TD. An impressive showing, but Campbell really ramped things up playing D: he forced one fumble and made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss). Cameron Samuels also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.

Abbeville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Andrew Payton III, Leonce Jack, and Samuels picked up one apiece. Payton III is becoming a predictor of Abbeville's success: when he posts at least one interception the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Franklinton came up short against Sumner last Friday and fell 21-14. The contest marked the Demons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
