Volleyball Recap: Ella Hardin Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Smyrna

Cookeville won the last time they faced Smyrna and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Cookeville's got stronger as the match went on, holding Smyrna to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-10.

Cookeville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Hardin, who had 15 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Hardin has posted over her last six matches. Another player making a difference was Sofia Bottoms, who had eight assists and six aces.

Cookeville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smyrna only served five aces.

Cookeville's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Smyrna, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Cookeville has already played their next contest (against Warren County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Smyrna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Lebanon on the 11th.
