Softball Recap: Los Gatos Has No Trouble Against Los Altos

Los Gatos won the last time they faced Los Altos and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Eagles 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ava Norquist made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Danica DeSantis looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Lily Young was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kendall Feichtmeir, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Los Gatos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Los Gatos is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Los Altos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Los Gatos wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against Gunn on the 1st. As for Los Altos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-2 victory against Wilcox on the 1st.
