Recap: Floresville Tigers vs. Somerset Bulldogs

The Floresville Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 57-23 win over Somerset on the road. Given Floresville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Somerset is ranked 1149th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Floresville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Huron, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordin Johns, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for Floresville, bringing their record for this year to 12-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Somerset, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Floresville will be home for the holidays to greet Pearsall at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carrizo Springs at 6:15 p.m. on December 29th.
