            Softball Recap: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs vs. Fieldcrest Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Deer Creek-Mackinaw). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fieldcrest Knights  a   19-0 shutout  on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Chiefs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
 Mackenzie Knowles made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Rudy Gilbert was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Those  stolen bases marked the first that  she  snagged this season. Another player making a difference was  Addyson Carithers, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.

 Deer Creek-Mackinaw  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .636. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in April of 2024.
Deer Creek-Mackinaw now  has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fieldcrest, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the  defeat, which was their 13th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
