Recap: Interlake Saints vs. Hazen Highlanders
The Interlake Saints suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-32 walloping at the hands of Hazen. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Interlake in their matchups with Hazen: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Interlake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cammy Roed. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. Roed continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Dakota Nap was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds for Hazen. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nap has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Garrett, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Interlake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Hazen, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Interlake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lindbergh at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hazen will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Lake Washington at 7:15 p.m. on January 24th.
