Basketball Game Preview: DePaul College Prep Rams vs. Lake Zurich Bears

The DePaul College Prep Rams will take on the Lake Zurich Bears in a holiday battle at at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

DePaul College Prep is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Taft: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that DePaul College Prep blew Taft out of the water with a 61-29 final score. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Eagles are ranked 363rd), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grace Lee and Kaitlin Totaro were among the main playmakers for DePaul College Prep as the former almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds and the latter went 6 of 10 on her way to 16 points and three steals. Totaro has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Ava Giordano was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Lake Zurich humbled Lake Forest with a 56-24 victory. With the Bears ahead 35-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.

The victory made it two in a row for DePaul College Prep and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Lake Zurich, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
