Baseball Recap: Poly Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arlington, Poly was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Valley View Eagles by a score of 6-1. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Danny Bedford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Henry, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Lucas Burton was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Poly's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Valley View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Poly will have a chance to go back-to-back against Valley View: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
