Soccer Recap: Hidden Valley Takes a Loss

Hidden Valley lost against Patrick Henry back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Titans came up short against the Patriots, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, Hidden Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Patrick Henry are ranked fifth).

This is the second loss in a row for Hidden Valley and nudges their season record down to 6-5-2. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-5 Salem (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 73.8% over those games). As for Patrick Henry, they pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Hidden Valley has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Pulaski County on the 19th. As for Patrick Henry, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Salem on the 16th.
