Baseball Preview: West Craven Eagles vs. Greene Central Rams
The West Craven Eagles will head out to take on the Greene Central Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Friday, West Craven didn't have quite enough to beat Farmville Central and fell 2-1.
Meanwhile, Greene Central got the win against Washington on Friday by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Rams have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Will Radford was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Logan Burress was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Greene Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Greene Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for West Craven, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
