East Wake Academy dropped down to 4-2 on Monday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Research Triangle Raptors by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raptors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Research Triangle, their win bumped their record up to 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 7, 2024.

Research Triangle found their leader in sophomore Kat Liquorie, who had 23 digs and three aces. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for Liquorie.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. East Wake Academy will square off against rival Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Research Triangle is set to face off against their familiar foe Raleigh Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
