Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Wellington's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

Wellington had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Start on Saturday. The Dukes put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dukes also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2022.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wellington was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-6, 25-9.

Sophia Beck paced Wellington's offense, picking up 13 kills. Beck got some help from Courtney Krosse and her 26 assists. Krosse was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Wellington is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Start, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Wellington will venture away from home to challenge Clearview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Start, they will take on Bowsher in a tournament on Monday.
