Volleyball Recap: Genoa Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Patriot Prep Academy on Saturday, Genoa Christian Academy came back down to earth. Genoa Christian Academy came up short against the Shekinah Christian Flames on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Genoa Christian Academy has struggled against Shekinah Christian recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-11, 25-8.

Reagan Schuck paced Genoa Christian Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Schuck got some help from Claire Mitchell and her 16 assists.

Leading Shekinah Christian to victory were Marly Johnson and Eleyna Beachy. Johnson had 15 kills and five digs, while Beachy had 28 assists and four digs. Beachy is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 46 games she's played dating back to last season. Chloe Helmuth was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Genoa Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Shekinah Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3.

Genoa Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Northside Christian on the 2nd. As for Shekinah Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Granville Christian Academy on the 2nd.
