Football Game Preview: Basic Wolves vs. Cimarron-Memorial Spartans

The Basic Wolves will take on the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Basic's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Cimarron-Memorial has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Basic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Shadow Ridge, who was ranked second at the time (Basic was ranked eighth). Basic fell 19-6 to Shadow Ridge on Monday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cimarron-Memorial). They blew past Cheyenne, posting a 46-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Cimarron-Memorial's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Basic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
