Baseball Recap: Beaver Falls Takes a Loss

Beaver Falls had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-11 to make it five. They came up short against the Riverside Panthers, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Monday.

As for Riverside, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.

For Riverside's part, Sean Hayes was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. John Bowser was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Looking ahead, Beaver Falls will square off against Brashear at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulls have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
