Football Game Preview: Haddonfield Bulldawgs vs. Delran Bears

Haddonfield is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Delran is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bulldawgs will host the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Haddonfield 11.8, Delran 8.6) so any points scored will be well earned.

Haddonfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 win over Lower Cape May. Given the Bulldawgs' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Tigers are ranked 89th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brody Leonard produced another solid effort rushing for 234 yards and a pair of TDs, while also picking up 39 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Delran earned a 28-20 victory over West Deptford on Friday.

Haddonfield better keep an eye on Vinny Sacca. He was instrumental in Delran's win, rushing for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 153 yards and one TD. Those 165 rushing yards gave Sacca a new career-high. Delran's leading receiver Justin Mary was Sacca's top target yet again, picking up 92 receiving yards and one score.

Delran didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited West Deptford to a completion percentage of just 37.5%. The Bears weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.2%.

Delran's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Haddonfield, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Haddonfield strolled past Delran in their previous matchup back in October of 2021 by a score of 28-14. Do the Bulldawgs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
