On Saturday, Germantown faced Columbus in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Germantown Mavericks strolled past the Columbus Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 72-54. The win was nothing new for the Mavericks as they're now sitting on six straight.

Germantown pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Columbus, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.

Germantown and Hall will round out the year against one another at on Friday. One thing working in Germantown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. Columbus will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Ridgeland at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. Ridgeland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
