Basketball Recap: Red Mountain Beats Queen Creek for Their Fourth Straight Win

Red Mountain had won three straight games and Macy Johnson did her part to make it four on Wednesday. The Red Mountain Mountain Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Queen Creek Bulldogs 67-16 thanks in part to Johnson, who posted 14 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Sierra Mellish, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points. Those 11 points gave her a new career-high.

Queen Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amaya Rodgers, who put up eight points in addition to five boards and five blocks, and Jessenia Attson, who had six points and six rebounds.

Red Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Queen Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Red Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 47-25 win against Dobson on the 10th. As for Queen Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-42 defeat against Higley on the 10th.
