Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary Cardinals vs. Centerville Tornadoes

The St. Mary Cardinals will face off against the Centerville Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Mary knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Centerville likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, St. Mary beat Freeman 68-56.

Meanwhile, Centerville hadn't done well against Elk Point-Jefferson recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Centerville took down Elk Point-Jefferson 58-42.

St. Mary's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Centerville, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Everything went St. Mary's way against Centerville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as St. Mary made off with a 72-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Mary since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
