Soccer Game Preview: Memphis East vs. Compass - Midtown

Memphis East has gone a perfect 4-0 against Compass - Midtown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against Compass - Midtown at 5:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Memphis East is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Crosstown just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They and the Explorers finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Memphis East happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 1st.

Their goal came courtesy of Randy Butler, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Compass - Midtown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Pleasant View. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Compass - Midtown couldn't quite close it out.

Memphis East's draw makes their record 8-2-2 this season. As for Compass - Midtown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1.

Memphis East beat Compass - Midtown 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do Compass - Midtown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
