Softball Recap: Unicoi County Comes Up Short

Unicoi County suffered their closest loss since April 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the David Crockett Pioneers by a score of 6-4. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Unicoi County's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-5. As for David Crockett, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Unicoi County is set to take on their familiar foe Sullivan East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, David Crockett will face off against rival Tennessee at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 1.8, the Vikings 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
