Softball Recap: Sneads Pirates vs. Wewahitchka Gators
Sneads fell victim to Wewahitchka and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Wewahitchka Gators, falling 13-0. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
This is the second loss in a row for Sneads and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Wewahitchka, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8.
Coming up, Sneads will venture away from home to challenge Graceville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sneads has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Wewahitchka, they will be playing at home against Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Wewahitchka's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
