Cottonwood has no trouble against Hillcrest

The Cottonwood Colts came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 68-51 win over Hillcrest. That looming 68-51 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Cottonwood yet this season.

Cottonwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peter Oguama led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Oguama's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ryan Nielson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Cottonwood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Hillcrest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.

Cottonwood will be playing in front of their home fans against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hillcrest, they will head out on the road to face off against Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
