Basketball Game Preview: Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans vs. Macomb Bombers

Bushnell-Prairie City hasn't had much luck against Macomb recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Macomb Bombers at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Bushnell-Prairie City was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Havana.

Meanwhile, Macomb waltzed into their game on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Boilermakers by a score of 48-36. Given the Bombers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Boilermakers are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Macomb's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-14.

Bushnell-Prairie City was taken down by Macomb 53-24 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Bushnell-Prairie City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
