Softball Recap: Corona del Sol Takes a Loss

Corona del Sol and Red Mountain squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Corona del Sol had to settle for second. They came up short against the Mountain Lions, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Aztecs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Corona del Sol has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season. As for Red Mountain, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4-1.

Corona del Sol and Red Mountain are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Aztecs will head out on the road to square off against Sunnyside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Corona del Sol's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Red Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against O'Connor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mountain Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
