Baseball Recap: Oswego Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Oswego and Cicero-North Syracuse pushed the score to 14-9 the last time they played Cicero-North Syracuse, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Bucs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Northstars a 2-0 shutout. For the Bucs, this counts as revenge for the 14-9 win the Northstars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Oswego secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Owen Sincavage, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Oswego has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cicero-North Syracuse, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coincidentally, Oswego and Cicero-North Syracuse will both be playing Central Square the next time they take the field. The Northstars will head out to face the Redhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Bucs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
