Baseball Game Preview: Wayland-Cohocton Eagles vs. Le Roy Oatkan Knights

The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles will face off against the Le Roy Oatkan Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Le Roy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wayland-Cohocton, who comes in off a win.

Wayland-Cohocton is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Thursday. They blew past Mount Morris 21-1.

Charlie Mulford and Orion Walker did most of the damage at the plate: Mulford scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Walker went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Alex Fedorchuk, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Wayland-Cohocton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Le Roy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 12-6 to Churchville-Chili on Saturday.

Wayland-Cohocton was able to grind out a solid win over Le Roy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Oatkan Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
