Recap: Harrison Panthers vs. The Classical Academy Titans
The Harrison Panthers couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 62-24 loss at the hands of The Classical Academy on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harrison in their matchups with The Classical Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Harrison's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nadia Turnipseed , who scored 10 points along with 4 steals. Nyleen Brown was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Harrison struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as The Classical Academy pulled down 18.
Among those leading the charge was Alaina Bonacquista, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Delaney, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for The Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrison will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for The Classical Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Canon City at 7:00 p.m.
