Basketball Game Preview: Hope Blue Wave vs. Times Squared Academy Eagles

The Hope Blue Wave will challenge the Times Squared Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Hope came up short against Ponaganset and fell 67-54.

Meanwhile, Times Squared Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Titans out 59-57.

Hope better focus on containing Justin Urey and Yomy Garcia as the pair were huge in Times Squared Academy's win. Urey posted 26 points, while Garcia put up 20 points.

Times Squared Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Hope didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Times Squared Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win.
