Soccer Recap: Newkirk Takes a Loss

Newkirk came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-2 to the Cordell Blue Devils. The loss continues a trend for Newkirk in their meetings with Cordell: they've now lost three in a row.

Newkirk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cordell, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Newkirk and Cordell will both be playing Bristow the next time they take the pitch. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
